The Black Appalachian Coalition (BLAC) is a Black women-led grassroots organization that centers storytelling to build collective power, advocate for policy changes, and dismantle harmful, whitewashed narratives about Appalachia. BLAC’s mission focuses on racial, environmental, economic, and gender justice across the Appalachian region.
