Details:
Salida Mountain Trails is partnering with Chaffee Rec Adopters on Saturday, June 6 from 8-2 for a fun and impactful National Trail Day! Volunteers can choose between two rewarding project options:
SMT Project: Sol Train East Trail Work- Help us give Sol Train East some much-needed TLC! We’ll continue enhancing trail features that have worn down over time. Expect digging, moving lots of dirt, and packing soil. This project includes a short uphill hike to the worksite
Rec Adopters Project: Burmac Cleanup- Assist with cleaning up trash, ash, and rock fire rings left by illegal campers in Burmac and along Powerline Road. Help us restore these areas for everyone to enjoy responsibly!
Register here!
Workday Details:
Both groups will meet at Burmac Campground at 8:00 AM. We will split into groups at the trailhead and work until around 1:00 PM. That is when the party starts! All volunteers will end the day with a delicious lunch generously provided by Sweetie’s Sandwich Shop and carbonated beverages (beer and NA options) from Soulcraft Brewing!
Drivers Needed: Both projects would greatly benefit from additional drivers willing to take people up the 4WD road to the worksites. If you have a truck or capable 4WD vehicle, please consider signing up to help transport volunteers!.
***All registered volunteers will receive a reminder email with further details by the end of the day Wednesday June 3
