How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. was created through the DreamWorks Theatricals Emerging Writers Program. A collaboration between DreamWorks Theatricals, Music Theatre International, and NBC Universal, this stellar program was launched to identify new teams of book writers, composers, and lyricists with unique voices and points of view to develop musical adaptations of popular DreamWorks Animation titles intended for the Music Theatre International catalogue. The Emerging Writers team behind How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. is Kate Thomas (book and lyrics) and Veronica Mansour (music and lyrics).
“This whimsical adventure is perfect for audiences of all ages, and we can’t wait to see how this production of How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. brings the community together,” says Drew Cohen, president and CEO of Music Theatre International.
Based on the Academy Award–nominated animated hit, How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. brings fire-breathing action, epic adventure, and big laughs to the stage. This Broadway Junior® musical follows Hiccup, a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes – a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless.
