Join us for NCSML’s Summer Camp 2026!

America 250: Celebrating Czech and Slovak Footprints Across the United States

July 20-23, Monday - Thursday, noon-4 pm.

Did you know that the last person to walk on the Moon was of Czech and Slovak heritage? Did you know that sugar cubes were invented by a Czech or that the first functional prototype of parachute was patented by a Slovak? Come and learn about notable people with Czech and Slovak roots; inventions, art and music! Build a little parachute, learn about our Buresh Immigration Clock Tower and make your own sundial, create your own Andy Warhol inspired pop art and more! The goal of this camp is to teach children in a fun and creative way using STEAM elements.

This camp’s recommended age group is students entering 2nd – 5th grade in the fall of 2026.

The camp will be hosted at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, July 20-23 (Monday through Thursday) from noon to 4 p.m.

Registration is required and it is $50/child for members and $60/child for non-members. This covers camp fees and staff, supplies, and snacks.

The camp has a maximum capacity of 15 campers.

Drop-off will be at the Alliant Energy Classroom inside NCSML. Pick-up will be in the grassy lot next to the NCSML parking garage entrance off of 15th Ave SW every day. Please, park your car in one of the surrounding lots or the parking garage and walk to the pick-up spot if possible. Backup spot in case of rain is the Rozek Grand Hall inside NCSML.
