Join the celebration of Castle Rock's rich Western heritage at the Western Heritage Welcome Weekend, featuring a spectacular Texas Longhorn Cattle Drive on Friday, July 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. This exciting event commemorates the community’s history and is part of the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo festivities. Cowboys, cowgirls, and all community members are encouraged to line Perry Street for a prime view as the cowhands from Silverado Ranch guide the herd from Rock Park down Perry Street to a corral near Festival Park. The event will include a captivating processional performance by the Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers, additional entertainment, food trucks, and interactive experiences for all ages at Festival Park.
Please note that parking will be restricted on Perry Street and Rock Park starting at 5 a.m., with roadway closures in effect from 4 to 7 p.m. To continue the celebration, the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo runs from July 24 to August 2, featuring rodeo competitions, carnival rides, and live entertainment, with an opening night drone show and concert.
