Founded in 1912, LA County Library is one of the largest and most innovative library systems in the United States. It serves 3.4 million residents across 3,000 square miles through its 86 libraries, 4 Cultural Resource Centers, and a mobile fleet of 15 vehicles. The library is dedicated to reducing barriers and increasing access to and equity of public services for all residents. Its mission is to meet the literacy, information, personal enrichment, and entertainment needs of the community by providing responsive and dynamic collections, programs, and services. LA County Library offers free public resources including books, music, multimedia materials, computer and internet access, and educational and recreational services. They also provide specialized services such as business resources, consumer health information, and tool lending programs.
