Welcome to the Faculty Lounge, an ongoing series where local Denton professors visit the library for hour-long lectures covering a multitude of engaging topics. This lecture is presented by Dr. Adriane Bezusko, Senior Lecturer in UNT's Department of English. In honor of Pride Month, this talk will explore how queer literature centers joy as a powerful, transformative act of resistance. We will discuss a wide range of queer literatures from the 20th and 21st centuries to explore how joy is a political act, shaped by historical contexts. Ages 18+.
