We have always been fascinated with our various ancestors’ histories, customs, weaponry, and folklore. Since we are pretty crafty (in several ways--wink), we decided to craft various wares of yore and bring them to the internet and local festivals. Our crafts are simple, well-made, and affordable. As for our name, Old English wyrd is a verbal noun formed from the verb weorþan, meaning "to come to pass, to become." It is associated with the concept of Fate or Destiny, and it is thought to be derived from a term in Old Norse, urðr, which has a similar meaning, but also a name of one of the Norns, Urðr (anglicized as Urd) and appearing in the name of the holy well Urðarbrunnr in Norse mythology.
