The Historic Palace Theatre, an exquisite example of Art Deco, features stunning porthole glass doors, luxurious upholstered walls, atmospheric bucket lights, vibrant neon accents, and remarkable hand-painted murals. Opened in 1942, it was celebrated as one of the grandest picture theatres between Norfolk and Philadelphia, highlighted by terrazzo floors, walnut paneling, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Once a vibrant hub for a thriving Cape Charles community, the Palace faced decline but has been revitalized by Arts Enter Cape Charles since 1997. Over $600,000 has restored its 1940s charm, ensuring its legacy endures.
