Outdoor Sensory Play

Location: YDL-Whittaker (Garden)
Explore, discover, and build a love of the outdoors as you engage with supplies at sensory play areas near the garden. Designed for kids ages 2-7 and their families.
Weekly Activities:
Jun 12: Fairy Clothes Wash Try out a washboard, wash clothes, and then hang them on the line to dry.
Jun 19: Mermaids Sensory play with shells, pearls, glitter, and mermaid magic.
Jun 26: Worms Play with real worms, make worm crafts and enjoy the sunshine.
Jul 3: Mud Kitchen Pizzeria Make pizzas on tree slices with mud sauce, then go on a pizza herb hunt.
Jul 10: Nature Play on the Way Join staff from the Gaffield Children's Garden at UM's Matthaei Botanical Garden for nature play.
Jul 17: Outdoor Sensory Adventure Travel a texture footpath and explore a variety of interesting substances you can touch and feel.
Jul 24: Clay Play Strengthen little hands by squishing, cutting, and marking clay.
Jul 31: Car Wash Muddy fun as you get cars dirty, drive them around, then make them clean again.
Aug 7: Waterworks Pour and scoop water and Orbeez at the water table and water wall.
Aug 14: Free Play Play with all our large outdoor toys, including slides, jungle gym, and water table.
