Thayer Public Library

The Thayer Public Library, located in Braintree, Massachusetts, is a public library dedicated to providing free access to materials, technology, knowledge, and ideas to inform and enrich the lives of all community members. Its mission is to serve as a welcoming and dynamic environment that stimulates curiosity, creativity, and supports lifelong learning and a love of reading. The library offers a vast collection of over 125,000 items, including books, large-print books, periodicals, audiobooks, and a Library of Things. The current building, opened in 1999, replaced earlier facilities that served the community since 1874, named in honor of General Sylvanus Thayer who provided a bequest for its founding.
