Details:
Join Avon Grove High Schools new Robotics Team at the library for a STEM workshop, sparking passion for building, coding, and curiosity. Engage in hands-on activities and even get a full tour of the teams washer-sized competition robot, watching it in action and learning how it was built! This program includes four exciting stations including... Arduino: Learn how to turn lines of code and a variety of components into traffic lights or sensors through Arduino, which takes in code and then, with buttons and distance sensors, creates different outputs such as flashing lights, buzzers, and noises. OnShape:Understand how professionals design all the newest innovations, such as cars, planes, and boats, with collaborative CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and design products that can be created with 3D printers. Tech Dissection: Use reverse-engineering to take apart all sorts of scrapped technology to understand how real engineers design their products. Learn what each component does and how it contributes to the finished product. Robot Demonstration: Get a full tour of the teams 70-pound, washer-sized competition robot and learn how the Robotics Team works together to build the robot in less than two months. See the robot drive around and launch balls and even get the opportunity to drive the robot for yourself! *Registration required.
