al-Barran Champions

Come enjoy the rugged beauty of the high desert of al-Barran as the setting for a weekend of pageantry, fellowship, and friendly competition. Scrub pines, open skies, desert dust, and sweeping views will frame the gathering as the Barony comes together to choose its champions.
This year’s event falls near the new moon, offering the chance for especially dark skies and, weather permitting, a beautiful view of the Milky Way above camp. Guests should expect a rustic outdoor site with uneven terrain, dust, open camping, and portable privies provided for the comfort of the populace, proving that even in our most medieval moments, the Outlands remains merciful.
As always, the event will be shaped by the hospitality for which the Outlands is known: warm welcomes, shared tables, laughter between camps, and the joy of gathering beneath the desert sky.
Planned activities include Baronial Champion, Master Swordsman, Premiere Blade, Protector of the Baroness’ Heart, Archery Champion, Thrown Weapons Champion, Three Spears competitions, A&S Champion, The Bard of al-Barran, and the Baroness’ Favor, chosen from among the many wonderful works,
deeds, and moments of the day.
Site opens for populace on Friday, September 11, and closes Sunday, September 13, at 4:00 PM. Set-up will begin Thursday, September 10, for event staff and set-up crew.

Adult member registration: $20
Adult non-member registration: $30
Children 17 and under: Free
Site Amenities and Restrictions
Frank’s Land is a rustic outdoor site. Guests should be prepared for uneven terrain, desert dust, open camping, and changing high desert weather. Portable privies will be provided for the comfort of the populace, proving that even in our most medieval moments, the Outlands remains merciful.
This is a primitive outdoor site, so attendees should plan accordingly and bring shade, water, sturdy
footwear, and anything needed for personal comfort in a high desert camping environment.
No open flames are permitted. This includes campfires, tiki torches, candles, and other exposed flames. All
attendees are expected to follow posted site and fire restrictions.
