Spice It Up!

Spice It Up! is an engaging culinary program at the Livingston Public Library designed to enhance your cooking experience. Starting Wednesday, August 3rd at 10am, visitors can pick up specially packaged spice kits featuring the spice of the month, Turmeric, at the Reference Desk and near the new cookbooks. Each kit includes a sample of the spice along with a QR code that provides its historical context and recipe suggestions. This initiative, sponsored by the Friends of the Library and available while supplies last, invites participants to explore the rich histories and cultural significance of various spices and seeds. In addition, the library offers a Seed Library for borrowing and donating seeds for herbs and vegetables, an online platform called Library Chef for live virtual cooking demonstrations, and a Cookbook Club that meets bi-monthly to share recipes. Food will be served during the program, and attendees are advised to bring their own snacks if they have concerns about food allergies. Join us in transforming every meal into a flavorful journey!
