Butterfly Release

Experience the magic of butterflies at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens with our exclusive Butterfly Release events! On select Friday and Saturday mornings from May 16 to July 19, immerse yourself in the Butterfly Experience before we open to the public. Get up close with hundreds of live butterflies in our Tropical Orchard and participate in a live Butterfly Release, where you'll learn about their life cycle, behavior, and ecological importance before helping to release a butterfly into our exhibit. Each session is limited to 15 participants, so advance online ticket purchase is required. Admission includes access to the conservatory for the day, allowing you to explore further after the release. Ticket prices are $27 for adults and students (13 and up) and $18 for children ages 3-12, while kids 2 and under are free (but require a ticket).
