The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year. And nature knows exactly what to do with it.
The trees, the mountains, the rivers, the ocean. They don’t resist the turning of seasons. They move with it. They trust it. And on this day, so will we.
This is an invitation to honor the shift that happens inside all of us when the world around us changes. Because we are not separate from nature. We are nature. And just like the seasons, we have moments of more energy, more light, more fire. This is one of them.
We will move through 108 sun salutations together. Not as a test of endurance, but as an act of devotion. To the sun. To the season. To ourselves.
Why 108? Because it is not an arbitrary number. In Vedic astronomy, the distance between the Earth and the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. That same ratio holds true for the Earth and the Moon. Ancient astronomers encoded the relationship between us and the cosmos into this single number. And in yogic philosophy, 108 nadis or energy channels meet at the heart center. So when we move 108 times toward the sun, we are quite literally aligning ourselves with the universe. With the light. With each other.
We will get creative. Expect a mix of traditional and non-traditional sun salutations woven together in a way that keeps your body moving and your spirit engaged.
Come as you are. This is not about perfection. It is about presence.

You will need:
A high quality yoga mat. (studio mat rentals are $5)
Water (we have a water refill station in studio)
Blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are available for you to use at no additional charge
