Fundamentals of Improv, Long Form: Relationships, Connections and Beyond
You’ve learned how to build strong relationships and spot patterns worth exploring. Now it’s time to connect the dots.
This class focuses on one of the biggest shifts in long-form improv: moving beyond individual scenes and discovering how relationships, ideas, and characters can connect across an entire piece. Through scene work, exercises, and side coaching, you’ll practice recognizing opportunities, making meaningful callbacks, and creating satisfying connections that make an improv set feel bigger than the sum of its parts.
Along the way, we'll explore how to balance structure with spontaneity, support group discoveries, and build worlds that feel cohesive without forcing them into place. The goal isn't to invent clever connections—it's to notice what's already emerging and confidently bring it back into play.
Whether you're revisiting a character, connecting themes between scenes, or finding unexpected links across an ensemble piece, this class will help you create improv that feels richer, more collaborative, and more rewarding for both performers and audiences.
Previous improv experience is recommended. This class is designed as a follow-up to Fundamentals of Improv: Relationships or Fundamentals of Improv: Pattern & Heightening.
