Participants will learn how to:
-Identify ethical places to look for naturally sourced bones
-Recognize different stages of decomposition in the field
-Safely store remains at various stages of decay
-Dissect a small specimen for bone preservation
-Learn how to preform maceration, degreasing, and whitening techniques
-Dissect and Clean a coyote paw in preparation for bone processing work.
This class is designed for beginners and seasoned collectors alike — anyone curious about anatomy, natural science, or the quiet magic of reclaiming what nature leaves behind.
All materials will be provided, and you’ll leave with your own fully cleaned coyote paw and the knowledge and tools to continue the bone processing work on your own.
