Details:
The City Council of the City of Brighton will consider a Petition to Vacate Right-of-Way for City-owned right-of-way on July 7, 2026.
The Brighton Crossing Filing No.9 Subdivision Plan was approved by City Council on March 17, 2026 (area shown in image on next page). In the Subdivision Plan, Brighton Crossing LLC depicted a new private roadway that would utilize a portion of City right-of-way. This right-of-way vacation application is to formally convey that right-of-way to private ownership.
Brighton Crossing LLC, the Applicant, is requesting that the City vacate approximately 0.495 acres of public right-of-way. If the right-of-way vacation is approved by City Council, the right-of-way would become privately owned by adjacent property owners, in this case, Brighton Crossing LLC. This excess right-of-way, which was not needed for the construction of N Golden Eagle Parkway, would be used to create a private roadway. The private roadway could be accessed by the public, but it would be privately owned and maintained.
