The Pottstown Area Regional Recreation Committee (PARRC) is an intergovernmental cooperative agency comprised of representatives from eight municipalities across three counties in the Pottstown Metropolitan Region, along with partners such as the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation and the Schuylkill River Greenway National Heritage Area. PARRC's core mission is to improve and enhance the parks, trails, open spaces, and recreational opportunities within the region. They achieve this through cooperative efforts, promoting the development and maintenance of recreational facilities, encouraging the preservation and creative use of open space, and implementing better planning for parks and recreation for all residents. PARRC also collaborates on initiatives related to local parks and recreation, health and wellness, tourism, resource management, and funding for recreational projects. The organization was established in 2012 and has since grown to include more municipalities and staff to support its mission.
