Journey Together: A Poetry Reading w/ Poet Laureate Michele Battiste

Join Lafayette Poet Laureate Michele Battiste for an interactive evening of poetry. Michele will read from her recent collection, The Elsewhere Oracle, which explores Colorado's mining legacy through the fictional haunted mining town of Elsewhere. The poems tell the story of Elsewhere, and they are paired with oracles that tell the story of you! She'll end the reading with time for some questions and discussion. The Elsewhere Oracle is a finalist for the 2026 High Plains International Book Award in Poetry and was longlisted for the 2025 Julie Suk Award.
