Quincy, MA 02169, USA

The Thomas Crane Public Library (TCPL) is a city library located in Quincy, Massachusetts, renowned for its Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Funded by the Crane family as a memorial to Thomas Crane, a prominent stone contractor, the library is the second-largest municipal collection in Massachusetts. Beyond its extensive collection, TCPL serves as a community hub, hosting concerts, lectures, art exhibitions, and offering private rooms for public use. It also houses Quincy's local public-access television channel, QATV. The library's original building, designed by H.H. Richardson, features notable stained-glass windows by John LaFarge and landscaping by Frederick Law Olmsted. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987. The library's mission is to inspire curiosity, spark imagination, foster community, and connect people to the online world, providing equitable access to information and services for all. The library offers a wide range of services, including access to online databases, e-books, audiobooks, and streaming media, as well as programs for children, adults, and new residents. The Thomas Crane Public Library Foundation supports the library's mission through fundraising and community engagement.
