The Charlotte and William Bloomberg Medford Public Library is a state-of-the-art facility serving the Medford community by promoting reading, supporting informational and recreational needs, and fostering a welcoming environment for all ages and abilities. Its mission is to be a hub for reading, learning, innovation, and discovery, encouraging dialogue and providing answers without judgment. The library offers a comprehensive collection in various formats, collaborates with community groups, and provides services such as computer access, hotspot lending, interlibrary loans, and curbside delivery. The modern, energy-efficient building, which opened in January 2022, features dedicated spaces for children and teens, a local history room, meeting and study rooms, an auditorium, a gallery, and a café. It also includes a maker space and tech lab, with architectural elements inspired by Medford's maritime history and a commitment to net-zero energy usage. The Medford Public Library Foundation supports the library's mission through private funding for programming, special collections, technology, and youth and adult learning initiatives.
