Details:
Join the Patriots’ rookie squad for a Juneteenth community non-contact football clinic focused on skills, drills, and teamwork. The professional athletes will lead participants through an on-field training experience designed to build fundamentals in a fun, high-energy environment. Participants will be grouped by grade level, and the clinic will conclude with time for photos and autographs.
This event serves as the kickoff to Newton’s Juneteenth celebration and supports scholarship opportunities through Newton Community Education (NCE) and the Newton Youth Success Collaborative (NYSC), helping expand access to educational and enrichment programs for local youth.
Stay for soccer and basketball clinics 1-3:00 at NNHS and then head to the Juneteenth celebration at the Hyde Community Center beginning at 3:00 PM. Together we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, specifically marking the day when enslaved people in Galveston TX finally received word of their freedom.
