Bring a favorite book or choose one from our selection, then enjoy a 15-minute reading session with a friendly dog, cat, or other critter. This program helps young readers build confidence while providing shelter animals with socialization and companionship as they await their forever homes! Registration is required and space is limited. You should receive an email shortly after registering with a Google Form link to choose a time slot. Registration is not finalized until you've selected a time! Please arrive around 5 minutes before your time slot to get checked in! This program will take place at the Humane Society of Central Illinois and participants will need to wear closed-toe shoes and complete a liability waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian before their first session. Please use the link included to print a waiver to be completed before the first session, or printed copies will be available at the library and at the Humane Society. Completed waivers may be emailed to lwilson@normalpl.org, dropped off at the library, or brought to the first session!
