Details:
The Town of Black Mountain will host a free public information workshop on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, beginning at 5:30 pm, at Black Mountain Town Hall regarding 100-year floodplain regulations, and the requirements for property owners inside the floodplain. Information will be shared about why floodplain regulations are important, and how to navigate the rules & regulations if you do have property within a floodplain. Also, the National Floodplain Insurance Program (NFIP) will be discussed.
Terry Foxx, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) WNC Planner with the NC Department of Public Safety, Hazard Mitigation Section, was to lead this workshop, but is unable to attend, but will be hosting an additional workshop within the next month.
This is open to all citizens, no registration required.
This workshop will be held at Black Mountain Town Hall in the Council Chambers, 160 Midland Ave.
