Let’s try watercolor with Kim Eslinger
Thursday, July 16, from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Class Fee: $25 BAGA members $30 non-members
If you’ve thought watercolors were unforgiving, it’s time to give them another chance. Kimberly Eslinger will show you how to work with the “flow” to build the depth and transparency needed to make enchanting paintings.
During this 2-hour workshop, we will cover:
• Choosing watercolor paper
• Building depth in layers
• Using Gouache or acrylics
• Adding and lifting pigment
• Bushes (can you really have too many?)
• Choosing watercolors
• General artist tips that make life easier
Please bring the following supplies to class:
• Cold-pressed 180lb paper
• No 8 round brush
• Any watercolors that you have access to
• Watercolor pallet
• Any stiff, waterproof board for taping your work down.
If you don’t have these supplies, don’t worry, we will have extra, just let us know.
Kimberly Eslinger is an illustrator, painter, sculptor, and fairy house builder. She created the watercolor illustrations above for Sonnets for the Journey by Deone Emineth.
