Details:
Step Back in Time: A Colonial Dance Workshop Country Dancing was the principal recreation for colonial North Americans of all social classes -- perhaps the equivalent of our present-day professional sports, pickleball, golf, and watching television all rolled into one. It's easy to learn, and great fun! The figures are similar to modern square dancing, done in longways lines or groups of six to eight people. No partner or experience required. Wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared to log some steps! Costumes and historical dress encouraged! Karen Dunnam calls dances for special events and interest groups all over Michigan. She's an avid participant in reenactments, instrumental music, and historical costuming.
