Details:
Join us for the "Dance, Dance Revolution: Colonial Dance Workshop," an in-person event where you can step back in time to experience the lively world of colonial North American dance. In this fun workshop, participants will learn the basics of country dancing, a popular recreational activity among colonists of all social classes—akin to modern-day sports and entertainment. The dance figures are reminiscent of square dancing and will be done in longways lines or small groups of six to eight people. No partner or prior experience is required, making it easy for everyone to join in. Wear comfortable shoes and be ready to dance! Costumes and historical attire are encouraged to enhance the experience. Led by Karen Dunnam, a passionate dance caller and participant in reenactments and historical costuming, this workshop promises to be an enjoyable and engaging outing for all.
