Details:
Dinosaurs have captured the imagination of people for millennia. The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle, first published in 1912, popularized dinosaurs to the public and inspired later works of fiction, such as The Lost World published by Michael Crichton in 1995. While published as a sequel to Crichton's novel Jurassic Park, the incorporates many elements from Doyle's The Lost World and reuses the title as an homage to Doyle's work. Together as a community, we will read both novels, watch a film inspired by each novel, and then discuss the novels and films. For the July meeting, we will read Crichton's The Lost World, then watch the 1997 film. Some scenes depict moderate violence and gore, so viewer discretion is advised. Running Time: 129 minutes Rating: PG-13
