Holocaust Museum LA is the oldest Holocaust museum in the United States, founded in 1961 by survivors. Its mission is to commemorate those murdered, honor survivors, educate about the Holocaust's history and causes, and warn against future genocides. The museum houses a large collection of artifacts and provides educational programs for students and the public, aiming to inspire a more dignified and humane world by drawing lessons from the past to address contemporary issues like antisemitism and hatred. It is currently closed for construction, with a grand reopening planned for June 2026.
