Details:
This summer, the Berkshire Botanical Garden presents two captivating exhibitions: 'Grounded in Nature: Paintings by Adam Van Doren' and 'Grand Gesture: Monumental Vessels in the Garden'.
From June 6 to August 23, admire the impressionistic works of award-winning New York artist Adam Van Doren, whose paintings explore the interplay between historic architecture and the natural landscape. The exhibition opens with a reception on June 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. Daily viewing hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In conjunction with this exhibition, join us for a slide talk titled "American in Nature: Reflections on the Art of Watercolor" by Mark Mitchell on July 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a reception. Additionally, a Watercolor Master Class with Adam Van Doren will take place on July 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (registration required).
Simultaneously, the garden features 'Grand Gesture: Monumental Vessels in the Garden', showcasing the striking ceramic sculptures of Vermont-based artist Stephen Procter. His large vessels, embodying grace and presence, are thoughtfully placed among the blooms, inviting contemplation and emotional resonance. This exhibition will run daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October, with an opening reception on May 15 from 5 to 7 p.m., and is free with garden admission.
