Details:
Berks Encore to Host First-Ever “Roper Romp” to Benefit Meals on Wheels Berks County The Roper Romp draws inspiration from Mrs. Helen Roper, the fun-loving landlady from the classic 1970s TV sitcom Three’s Company. Known for her flowing caftans, statement jewelry, and larger-than-life personality, Mrs. Roper has become an icon—and the inspiration behind a national trend of spirited dress-up gatherings. The event calls on participants to dress in their finest Roper-inspired attire—think flowing caftans, oversized sunglasses, red wigs, and retro glam. But it’s not just for the ladies! Men are encouraged to channel Stanley Roper, Helen’s often-grumpy, leisure-suit-wearing husband, and join in the fun. Berks Encore’s Roper Romp will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with brunch at Third & Spruce, a group photo shoot at noon followed by a romp through West Reading to Midtown for dessert at 1:00 p.m. Each participant receives a commemorative cup for their beverages, and a logoed handheld fan. Tickets are 60 per person or 100 per couple, with all proceeds benefiting Meals on Wheels Berks County, which delivers thousands of nutritious meals each year to homebound seniors. Beyond the meals, the program offers regular wellness checks and much-needed social connection. Tickets and sponsorship details are available at www.berksencore.org.
