When a Woodcutter meets a bear in the forest, to save his life, he gives the bear one of his own daughters to marry. Niña, his daughter, discovers a wonderful secret about the bear and sets off on a great adventure to unlock the secret forever. Berks Opera Company invites you to enjoy this gift to the community; The Bear Prince by Chris Heslop and Vicki Haller Graff, a beautiful production filled with color and magic. Inspired by a Mexican folk tale, this enchanting production blends jazz and opera to tell the story of an enchanted prince! This production, hosted by the Neag Planetarium at Reading Public Museum, is free and open to the public thanks to support from Arthur Judson Foundation, Reading Musical Foundation, The Presser Foundation and Arethusa Designs. Performance dates are July 11 & 16 at 7pm; July 12, 17, 19 & 20 at 1pm. The Neag Planetarium is located at 500 Museum Rd, Reading, PA 19611.
