The Wyomissing Summer Concert Series continues with one of our most cherished traditions—an evening with the historic Ringgold Band and the Annual Children’s Lantern Parade. It all takes place on the beautiful Stone House Lawn in Wyomissing Borough Park, where music, memories, and community come together under the summer sky. The Ringgold Band, formed in 1852 and based in Reading, PA, is one of the oldest community bands in America. With a rich legacy of musical excellence, their concerts feature a mix of familiar classics, symphonic overtures, show tunes, and spirited marches that stir the soul and set the perfect tone for this special night. As the music plays and the sun begins to dip behind the trees, children from our Summer Playground Program gather to create their lanterns—each one a glowing symbol of the season coming to a close. Then, as the band launches into a rousing march, the kids parade proudly around the pond, their lanterns lighting the path as we all say goodbye to summer in the most magical way possible. Pack a picnic, bring a lawn chair, and come early to soak up the atmosphere. It’s a night that captures the heart of Wyomissing, and one you won’t want to miss.
