Join rare disease advocate and award-winning author Heather Novak, along with LGBTQ+ publishing historian Jane Kolven, for a conversation on writing queer and chronic illness stories. From practical writing advice to the realities of publishing, Heather and Jane will pull back the curtain on their own publishing journeys, and how Heather balances her chronic illness and her creativity. Book signing to follow.

About the Authors
When she’s not pretending to be a rockstar with purple hair, Heather Novak can be found crafting LGBTQ+ romances with disability representation. She’s also a columnist for Hypoparathyroidism News, where she talks about life with her rare disease. Heather’s work as an award-winning author and advocate earned her a spot on BEQ Magazine’s 40 LGBTQ+ Leaders Under 40 list in 2021.Heather is full of bisexual glitter and is pretty sure her left arm is haunted. Jane Kolven is an author of contemporary romance. She is proud to create stories that show a variety of LGBTIQA people finding happiness—because everyone deserves love. Jane grew up writing stories before taking a detour into theater, performance art, and film. She is now happy to return to her first love, writing.
