Nature is Waiting
There’s something about practicing yoga a few steps from wildlife that a studio can never replicate. Summer Yoga at the Zoo pairs 60-minute, all-levels classes with locations across the Detroit Zoo, each class taking place at a unique animal habitat. Every session includes a zookeeper chat explaining the animals you’re practicing near.
Popular sessions fill up early. Don't leave your spot in child's pose.
New for 2026
• A class near the lion habitat, where three young cubs have been settling in
• Tuesday evening sessions from 6-7 p.m. for the post-work yogis
• Classes inside the Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails
• Boardwalk sessions return to spotlight wetland species
What to Expect
• A 60-minute yoga class led by a certified instructor
• Outdoor settings throughout the Zoo
• Complimentary parking and Zoo admission
• Limited class size for a more focused experience
• An exclusive Zookeeper Chat
Yoga That Supports Something Bigger
Every stretch, breath and pose contributes to the Zoo’s conservation and care efforts. Namaste. And thank you for supporting wildlife and wild places.
