The GFWBA is a non-profit trade organization chartered by the state of Texas and which has been granted tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(6) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Its Builder members are engaged in single and multi-family building, land develoment, remodeling and rehab, and general light construction. Its Associate members are companies and individuals who provide materials, products, financing, and many other services, including subcontracting to builders and developers. Estabilished in 1945 as an affiliate of the NAHB, GFWBA has a 7 county jurisdiction: Tarrant, Johnson, Hood, Wise, Parker, Somervell and Palo Pinto.
