Details:
Have you ever pushed a stroller where the pavement was uneven? Crossed a street that didn't feel safe? Wondered why some routes are easier to walk than others?
Join BECC for a Community Walk Audit!
A walk audit is simply a group walk where community members observe and discuss what makes a walking route safe, comfortable, and accessible, or what could be improved. You don't need any special experience, just your perspective.
We'll be walking the route used for our Movin' Monday Stroller Brigade program, where families walk from the BECC office to North Country Park. Your feedback will help us identify ways to make this route safer and more welcoming for young children, older adults, people using mobility devices, and anyone who enjoys walking.
During the walk we'll:
Walk the Stroller Brigade route together
Notice what works well and what could be improved
Discuss ideas for safer crossings, sidewalks, and accessibility
Share observations that will help guide future improvements
Everyone is welcome!
Parents, grandparents, caregivers, neighbors, community members, business owners, walkers. You don't have to be an expert to participate!
