Details:
The Summer Institute on Contemporary Art (SICA) is a professional development program for PreK–12 art teachers, organized by the Penn State School of Visual Arts. This year, SICA focuses on how arts education contributes to the U.N. Sustainable Development Goal 8, which aims to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. Participants will explore the effects of creative labor, teaching professions, and new co-creation paradigms through art-making. The program is free for local K–12 art educators, but advanced registration is necessary. Act 48 credits are available, sponsored by PAEA. For questions or to register, please contact Aaron Knochel at adk176@psu.edu or visit the registration link: sites.psu.edu/sica/2026-summer-institute/registration/?utm_id=97758_v0_s00_e0_tv4_a1demo0jsg5ov3.
