Step into a world of magic and imagination as Doodlers create and illustrate their own mythical creatures and adventure through art and storytelling! Campers will design enchanted worlds, dream up unique characters, and bring their stories to life through painting, sculpting, and illustrating their own magical tales.
From dragon scales and fairytales to shimmering geode crystals, each project becomes part of a story they build all week long, ending with a creative celebration!
Dates/Times, Cost & Additional Details:
Dates: June 16-19
Times: Half Day - 9am to Noon & Full Day 9 am to 3pm
Half Day $225 (9 am to Noon) Full Day $375 (9 am to 3 pm)
$50 deposit due when registering balance paid on first day of camp
All Doodlers (half & full day campers) will want to bring a snack and drink each day.
Full Day Campers will also want to pack a full lunch.
Each Doodler will receive an Artsy Doodle t-shirt to wear to class each day as their art smock and it’s theirs to keep at the end of camp.
Camps are a drop-off classes, recommended for ages 5-13
Day One: Once Upon a Time… Build Your World!
Doodlers will begin their journey by creating a magical fairytale setting—a castle, enchanted forest, mystical land, or even outer space. Creating a vibrant backdrop for their story! Then they’ll dream up their very own main character (fairy, dragon, unicorn, or magical creature!) and begin building their story as they create their first artwork! We will be designing and painting a design from their story on a ceramic keepsake. Each camper will receive a story journal and pencil/sketching set to keep, so they can continue their storytelling and illustrating all summer long.
Story Focus: Setting + Main Character
Day Two: The Dragon’s Discovery!
The adventure continues as Doodlers design a bold and colorful dragon or fairy masterpiece, learning how to create scales, wings, and fiery details! Then we’ll use air dry clay to craft dragon eggs, magic mushrooms or artifacts that play an important role in their story!
Story Focus: Problem or Quest Begins
Day Three: Potions & Magic in the Details!
Campers will create a stunning geode crystal masterpiece, using shimmering colors and textures and crystals to design a magical gem that holds special powers in their story! This enchanted crystal becomes a key element in their adventure, maybe it grants powers, unlocks a secret, or helps their character overcome a challenge! Then we’ll add even more magic by creating a wand, potions, and charms to use along their journey!
