ScribeCraft: Papermaking | Tuesday, July 21, 2026 | 10:00 AM & 11:30 AM | Grades 4–5 | Sachem Public Library
Kids will explore the art and process of handmade paper in this hands-on ScribeCraft workshop.
Participants will learn how paper can be made from fibers, water, and simple tools, then take part in the papermaking process themselves. Along the way, they’ll discover how this everyday material connects to writing, art, books, and the sharing of ideas across time.
This workshop blends history, creativity, and messy hands-on making in an age-appropriate way for students in grades 4–5.
Participants will:
• Learn the basic steps of handmade papermaking
• Explore how fibers become sheets of paper
• Use simple tools and materials to create paper
• Connect papermaking to writing, books, and communication
• Take home a handmade paper project
A creative, hands-on workshop for curious kids who enjoy art, history, and making something from scratch.
Two sessions are available: 10AM and 11:30AM
