Lost Hopes & Dreams: New Jersey's Perinatal Bereavement Training for Community Health

Please note – this program is intended for those working in the community setting. Healthcare professionals working in the inpatient setting may find more value in our full-day program, which will be October 21. 
This training is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in the community setting who provide care and support to New Jersey families experiencing perinatal loss. 
After attending this program, participants will be able to:
Define the five types of perinatal loss

Implement communication skills with parents and family members
Review the ethical dilemmas that can occur with deaths in the NICU
Explain best practice for supporting families with pregnancy after loss
Describe ways to support families during pregnancy after loss
State resources for bereaved families
Verbalize methods of self care when working with bereaved families

Target Audience
Perinatal Community Nurses, Doulas, Community Health Workers
Learning Outcome
After attending the program, 85% of attendees will report an increase in knowledge and skill to be able to effectively care for families who experience perinatal loss.
