Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training program that teaches people how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. This training focuses on: Recognizing early signs and symptoms of mental health problems Offering initial help and support Assessing for risk of suicide or harm Listening non-judgmentally Encouraging appropriate professional help and self-help strategies Assisting in crisis situations (e.g., panic attacks, overdose, psychosis) This is a 7-hour training that requires completion of pre-training and post-training surveys. Pre-training coursework must be completed by Monday, July 13th . If the pre-training is not completed by the deadline, then your registration will be removed. *A 3-year certificate will be provided once all components of the course have been completed* Presenter: Gabrielle Persaud, Mental Health Awareness Instructor About Gabrielle Persaud: Gabrielle Persaud is a mental health training professional with nearly 15 years of experience working across law enforcement, nonprofit, and social work settings. She specializes in mental health awareness, crisis response, and trauma-informed training, and has delivered trainings to a wide range of audiences including community-based organizations, city agencies, and criminal legal system stakeholders. Gabrielle brings a practical, real-world approach to her work, focusing on equipping participants with actionable skills they can apply in high-pressure and everyday situations. Please note that registration is required for this training and walk-ins will not be permitted.
