As a tribute to America’s 250th birthday, gather to watch a screening reel of “The American Revolution” a PBS documentary film by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt. We will watch a snapshot of each of the six part – 12 hour series.
This widely acclaimed documentary series explores the country’s founding struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. “The American Revolution” examines how America’s founding turned the world up-side down. Thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic Coast rose in rebellion, won their independence, and established a new form of government that radically reshaped the continent and inspired centuries of democratic movements around the globe.
