Join Montpelier Alive for one of Vermont's largest Independence Day celebrations on Friday, July 3, 2026. This year's theme, "250 Together!", honors our nation's 250th anniversary while celebrating the community connections that make Montpelier special.

The Montpelier Mile road race begins at 6:00 pm, followed by the community parade at 6:15 pm through downtown. Enjoy a free concert featuring acclaimed blues artists Dave Keller and Johnny Rawls from 7:00–9:00 pm on the State House Lawn, culminating with fireworks over downtown Montpelier at 9:30 pm.
Additional activities include free admission to the Vermont Historical Society's "50 for 250" exhibit, free swimming at the Montpelier City Pool, visits to the Montpelier Fire Department, downtown shopping, live music, and more.
