L/A Repair Café

The L/A Repair Café is a community event designed to promote repair culture by bringing together individuals who enjoy fixing items with those who have broken belongings. Participants can bring one item at a time for repair, with options including clothing and textiles, knife and tool sharpening, lamps, small electrical appliances, and wooden furniture. Additional items can be queued for repairs if desired. While not all repairs may be feasible, volunteers will make decisions based on their discretion. Participants are responsible for transporting their items to and from the event. For inquiries, individuals can reach out to Izzy Ruta, the Adult Services Manager. This initiative is supported by funds from the Natural Resources Council of Maine Sustainability Grant, aiming to reduce waste and save costs within the community.
