L/A Repair Café

The L/A Repair Café is a community event that fosters a repair culture by connecting individuals who need assistance with fixing broken items to community members who enjoy repairing them. Participants can bring one item at a time for repair, such as clothing, textiles, small electrical appliances, tools, or wooden furniture, with the possibility of getting in line for additional items after their first repair. While not all repairs may be possible, volunteers will assess each item. Attendees are responsible for transporting their items to and from the event. This initiative aims to reduce waste and save costs and is funded by the Natural Resources Council of Maine Sustainability Grant.
