Details:
Join Lead Naturalist Lawrence Greene for our Third Session of the Biodynamic Gardening Series, a hands-on gathering where we prepare the Soil, observe seasonal rhythms, and work directly with the Land.
Guided by Rising Appalachia’s values of community, environmental stewardship, and cultural preservation, you’ll learn practical Biodynamic techniques you can use at home—while connecting with neighbors who care about the health of our Appalachian landscape. Throughout the year, we will be guided by the book, Culture and Horticulture, a philosophy of Gardening, by Wolf-Dieter Storl. Each time we gather, we will dive deeply into components of this philosophy in practical ways.
During this Third Session, timed to occur near the Summer Equinox, the longest day of the year, we will get our hands dirty while learning about Soil as a living Organism: Bedrock, Soil pH and plant indicators. What do plants tell us about the soil?
