Details:
Artists often used their practice to explore and react to occurrences in society. The 23 KMA artworks selected for this exhibition address a common theme of activism. Some, such as Käthe Kollwitz’s Outbreak, depict events that occurred over a hundred years ago, while others reference more contemporary issues, including Civil Rights and Vietnam War protests, the Rodney King trial, and racial and gender inequity. Curated by KMA student interns Luiza de Araujo Caetano and Luca Gee. Generously funded by Ohio Arts Council.
